Pricing
SynCaps V4 is in early access, and everything in it is free. The prices below apply once early access ends. We will email every account at least 30 days before then, with the date. Studies that hold data when early access ends become paid studies at no charge.
SynCaps is paid for one study at a time. There is no subscription.

These are launch prices, and they include VAT. Each purchase gives your account credits, one for each study, which you use whenever you like: a credit makes one study a paid study. Credits can be used for three years from the day you buy them, oldest first; your account page shows each purchase's date. On your study pages, credits you have not yet used are shown as prepaid studies.
Free study
Every study starts as a free study, which includes:
- Importing a study file, with the import report: participants, items, groups, and any problems found in the file.
- Items × Groups, and the whole of merging and ignoring group names, with the fit of each merged set.
- Setting up a card sort, with a pilot link that takes up to 10 responses.
- Downloading your study file and your merged sets at any time.
- Practice studies, for courses and for learning card sorting: every chart and the participant analysis, free, for up to 10 participants.
Paid study
Everything in a free study, and:
- The charts page: the similarity matrix, the item and participant dendrograms, and the gap chart.
- The participant analysis, which tests whether your participants fall into distinct groups that sorted differently, and the subsets it finds.
- Suggested merges, proposing which group names to merge from their wording and their items.
- Launching card sorts to participants, and more card sorts in the same study at no further charge.
- Every export, including each chart as SVG.
How long studies are kept
- A free study is kept for six months from the day you create it.
- Making it a paid study adds six months, whenever you do it.
- A paid study can be kept for 12 months more with another credit, at any time.
- When a study's date has passed, it can be downloaded for 30 days, and is then deleted.
Paying
Payment is by card or PayPal at checkout. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle sends your receipt. Prices are shown in your own currency where Paddle offers it. If you need another way to pay, write to [email protected].
You can ask for a refund within 14 days of buying: see our refund policy. The terms of service apply to every purchase, and the data protection summary is written for your organisation's IT or data protection office.
